Amitabh Bachchan's Generosity: Rs 50-Cr Juhu Bungalow 'Prateeksha' Gifted to Daughter Shweta Nanda

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, along with his wife Jaya Bachchan, has recently displayed an act of familial generosity by gifting their luxurious Juhu bungalow, Prateeksha, to their daughter, Shweta Nanda. This opulent property, located in the upscale Vitthalnagar Cooperative Housing Society, spans two plots totaling 674 square meters and 890.47 square meters, with a combined valuation of approximately Rs 50.63 crore.

The formal transfer of ownership was executed through two distinct gift deeds, both duly signed on November 8. A stamp duty of Rs 50.65 lakh was paid for the registration of these deeds, solidifying the legal aspects of this significant property transaction.

Prateeksha holds sentimental value for the Bachchan family, having been their residence during the early years of Amitabh Bachchan's illustrious career. Notably, the iconic actor possesses two other bungalows in Juhu named Jalsa and Janak. The familial significance of Prateeksha is underscored by the fact that it hosted the wedding ceremonies of Amitabh Bachchan's son, Abhishek Bachchan, to the renowned actress Aishwarya Rai in 2007.

While Prateeksha has found a new owner in Shweta Nanda, the Bachchan patriarch still maintains a presence in Juhu through his other properties. 'Jalsa' and 'Janak' continue to be integral parts of the family's legacy, with the latter reportedly serving as more of an office space for the 81-year-old Bollywood legend.

Shweta Bachchan Nanda, aside from being the recipient of this grand gift, is a multifaceted individual. An accomplished author, columnist, former model, and entrepreneur, she authored the bestselling novel 'Paradise Towers.' In 2007, she tied the knot with Nikhil Nanda, the Managing Director, and Chairman of Escorts Limited.

The couple has been blessed with two children, a daughter named Navya Naveli Nanda and a son named Agastya Nanda. The handover of Prateeksha signifies not only a property exchange within the family but also reflects the deep-rooted bonds and the Bachchan legacy being passed on to the next generation.

Prateeksha, a name given by Amitabh Bachchan's poet father, Harivanshrai Bachchan, is believed to be referenced in one of his poems, further adding a touch of literary and familial heritage to this significant property.
