Alia plays mature over Kangana's 'puppet' comment | Read full story

Mumbai: Kangana Ranaut has always been the 'Jhansi ki Rani' of Bollywood and doesn't spare anyone who hurts her. In a recent episode of Kangana's wrath, 'Gully Boy' actress Alia Bhatt has fell victim for not supporting her movie, 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi'.

The things got escalated between the two when Kangana called Alia "Karan's puppet" compelling later to give her reaction to the accusation.

Alia, however, had said that she hadn’t been following the controversy so has no take on Kangana’s comments. She also hoped that Kangana doesn’t hold it against her.

However, Kangana, upon learning Alia's reaction, came down heavily on her and asked Alia to grow a spine and support a film about women empowerment and nationalism. She also alleged that she doesn’t consider Alia Bhatt successful and that the actress is all about making the big bucks. She even said that Alia’s existence is all about being Karan Johar’s puppet.

After so much criticism Alia, finally, broke her silence and in an interview said that she would react to Kangana’s comments in person, not in the media. Alia, however, admired 'Queen' star, for her work, choice of films and her outspokenness. Alia also said that she didn’t deserve such harsh comments from Kangana.

"I would like to react to her personally if she has any complaints. I don’t want to talk about it in the media. As I have said before, I really admire her as an actor and the choices that she makes. She’s a very outspoken person and I admire her for that as well. If I have upset her unintentionally, then I don’t know. Basically, it wasn’t my intention. I didn’t do anything to get a reaction like this," Alia Bhatt said.

For those who aren't aware of the whole incident, recently a biopic of Jhansi ki rani 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' was released featuring Kangana Ranaut as Manikarnika. This womencentric film was also helmed by Kangana and the actress held her hopes high for this film. As Kangana has been a straight forward and strong opinionated girl, she says what she feels in her heart. The actress got disappointed from the response she got on her movie from the film fraternity.

She alleged that she always encouraged good movies and the craftsmanship shown by the actors, but, this cold response from the industry on her periodic movie shook her. The actress also shared a incident where Alia asked her to watch one of her movies and after watching it Kangana not only called Alia to congratulate her for her brilliant performance but also talked about the other aspects of the movie for almost an hour.

Kangna had expected the same reaction from Alia, but failing to receive the same treatment she came down harsh on her.
