Actor Ranbir Kapoor summoned by ED in Mahadev online betting app case

Mahadev Online betting app case : ED summons actor Ranbir Kapoor for questioning on Oct 6.

WHAT IS MAHADEV BETTING CASE?

Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal founded multiple websites and apps under the brand Mahadev Book app, which provides online casino and betting platforms, activities that are illegal. The duo, who hail from Chhattisgarh, are believed to be hiding in Dubai.

Despite being banned in India, the Mahadev app continues to operate in other countries.

The ED found substantial evidence of money laundering and froze or seized proceeds of crime worth Rs 417 crore.

The probe agency and Chhattisgarh Police issued a Lookout Circular (LOC) against the two in August. The LOC could lead to their arrest if they attempt to enter India.

Several Bollywood artists including Tiger Shroff, Sunny Leone, Neha Kakkar, Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan among others, are also under the ED radar for attending Sourabh Chandrakar's wedding which was held in Dubai in February. The celebrities involved may soon be summoned for interrogation
