Governor in fray, campaigning has ended, votes will be cast tomorrow for 102 seats.

The election campaign for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections came to an end on Wednesday evening. In this phase, on April 19, voting will be held for 102 seats in 21 states and union territories. Eight Union ministers, two former chief ministers and a former governor are among the leaders whose electoral fate will be decided in the first phase. The seats in this phase include 12 out of 25 seats in Rajasthan, six out of 29 in Madhya Pradesh, one out of 11 in Chhattisgarh, eight out of 80 in Uttar Pradesh and five out of 48 in Maharashtra. Voting will take place for all 39 seats in Tamil Nadu.

Tight security arrangements

Voting will take place from 7 am to 6 pm on April 19, except in some sensitive areas. The Election Commission has made strict security arrangements. Central forces have been deployed at polling stations.

Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Puducherry, Jammu and Kashmir and Lakshadweep. .

Gadkari preparing for hat-trick

Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari is preparing for a hat-trick of victory from Nagpur seat. In 2014, he had defeated seven-time MP Vilas Muttemwar by 2.84 lakh votes. In the last election, he had retained the seat by defeating current Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole by 2.16 lakh votes.
