The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday officially released the voter turnout data after the first phase and second phase of the general elections. This data showed that 84% of parliamentary constituencies saw distinct declines. Giving information on Tuesday, the Election Commission said that 66.14 percent voting was recorded in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections and 66.71 percent voting was recorded in the second phase.

The first phase of voting was held on April 19 in 102 constituencies. The second phase of voting was held in 88 constituencies on April 26. There has been a decline in the voting percentage in both the phases as compared to Lok Sabha elections 2019. Let us tell you that in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, 69.43 and 69.17 percent voting was recorded in the first and second phases respectively.

The six seats with the biggest decline in voting include Nagaland (decline of 25.2 percentage points compared to 2019), Sidhi in Madhya Pradesh (13 percentage points), Mathura in Uttar Pradesh (11.6 percentage points), Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh (11.31 percentage points). ), Rewa in Madhya Pradesh (10.9 percent marks), Pathanamthitta in Kerala (10.9 percent marks).

In the first round of voting, 66.22% male voters exercised their franchise, while 66.07% female voters exercised their franchise. The data shows that 31.32% of eligible voters of the third gender voted. In the second phase, 66.99% eligible male voters voted, while for female voters this figure was 66.42%. 24% voters of the third gender came to vote. Lok Sabha elections 2024 are being held in seven phases. In this, people will cast their votes to elect their respective candidates on 543 Lok Sabha seats of the country.

Lakshadweep (84.1%) recorded the highest turnout in the first phase of voting in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, while Bihar (49.26%) recorded the lowest turnout among the 21 states and union territories going to polls on April 19. Is. Talking about the second phase of voting, Manipur had the highest turnout of 84.85%, while Uttar Pradesh had the lowest turnout of 55.19%.
