UP has four top law universities out of top 30 in the country

According to the ranking of the year 2023, the Law Department of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University of Lucknow has been placed at 10th position in the list and first in the state. While Aligarh Muslim University of Aligarh is at 14th position in the country and second in the state.

National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) has released a list in which four law universities of Uttar Pradesh has been placed among top 30 universities of the country.

According to the ranking of the year 2023, the Law Department of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University of Lucknow has been placed at 10th position in the list and first in the state. While Aligarh Muslim University of Aligarh is at 14th position in the country and second in the state.

Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia (NLU) of Lucknow is at 21st place in the list. Banaras Hindu University of Varanasi has been placed at 22nd place in the list.

Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow:

The Law Department of BBAU Central University is at number one in the list of law colleges in the state. However, it is not a separate college in itself. It provides a five-year BBA LL.B. programme in the School of Legal Studies at the University is an honors program. After 12th, you can take admission through CUET-UG exam. For this, students should have a minimum of 50% score in 12th. The university has a two-year LL.M and Ph.D programs also.

Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh:

The Faculty of Law of AMU Aligarh is second in the list. Five Year Integrated BBA LL.B. programme is offered by the University which is an honors program. Students have to pass CUET-UG exam to take admission after 12th. For this, you should have minimum of 50% score in 12th. After the test, you can register for counseling for admission in the university. This university also has a two-year LL.M programme, PhD and diploma courses.

Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia NLU, Lucknow:

Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University of Lucknow is at third place in the list. It provides five years Integrated BBA LL.B. (H) Honors Program and one year LL.M degree course. BBA LL.B. (H). You have to pass CLAT after completing 12th through which you can take admission. There are 160 seats for non NRIs and 16 seats for NRIs in the university for this course.

Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi:

BHU is at fourth position in the list. It also provides five year integrated BBA LL.B programme, three year LLB Honors programme, two year LL.M and one year LL.M programme. To take admission in BBA LL.B and LLB Honors courses, it is important to clear CUET - UG test. Whereas, you can take admission in LL.M program through CUET - PG.

Apart from this, you can also take admission in PG Diploma course in the university.

How is NIRF ranking released?

Every year the Ministry of Education releases the list of top colleges of the country. This is called NIRF ranking. This list is prepared by the Expert Committee of the Ministry on the basis of five parameters including Teaching, Learning and Resources, Research, Professional practice and Outreach & Inclusivity.
