Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission has released the result of the State Civil Service Exam 2019. This result has been released only for 87 percent of the recruitments. 13% of seats have been left vacant because the case of OBC reservation is pending in the Supreme Court.

In the year 2019, the MP Public Service Commission recruited a total of 571 posts of State Civil Service. But at present the Commission has selected candidates for only 472 posts. No recruitment has been done on 99 posts. The Commission has done this due to the pending case in the court regarding OBC reservation. The result of the remaining 13% of posts will be released after the final decision of the court.

Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission had released the result of State Civil Service Recruitment 2020 in June 2023. There are many such candidates including topper Priya Pathak, Nidhi Mishra, Simmi Yadav whose names are also included in the MPPSC 2020 merit list released in June. In such a situation, due to names appearing in the merit of both the recruitments, many seats will remain vacant.

On this, OSD of MPPSC R Panchabhai said that it will be up to the candidate to decide in which recruitment he will take appointment and the seats left vacant due to him will be filled by the candidates of the same category from the supplementary list.

Why did the result of this recruitment come after four years?

Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission had released the notification of Civil Service Recruitment Examination in November 2019. In February 2020, the Madhya Pradesh government made changes in the Reservation Act. According to this, even if reserved category candidates score more than the cut-off of general category, they will not be considered for general seats.

After this, the mains examination of this recruitment was held in March 2021. Whose result was released on 1 January 2022. A total of 1918 candidates were qualified in this result. The new rule of Reservation Act was applicable in this result. Let us inform you that in March 2019, the state government had decided to increase OBC reservation in government jobs from 13% to 27%. The candidates disqualified in the Mains result reached the High Court with the complaint of ignoring the reservation rules in the result. After this, in April 2022, Jabalpur High Court changed this result.

The candidates disqualified in the Mains result reached the High Court with the complaint of ignoring the reservation rules in the result. After this, in April 2022, Jabalpur High Court changed this result.

The court ordered the commission to release the result as per the reservation rules of 2015. Along with this, the Commission was ordered to conduct special mains examination. MPPSC revised the prelims result and conducted special mains exam for additional candidates in April 2023.

The interview merit list was prepared by merging and normalizing the results of previous Mains and Special Mains. But in the normalization process, 353 such candidates, who were included in the earlier qualified group of 1918, were disqualified.

The matter again reached the court. Out of these 353, 240 candidates complained in court, after which the court ordered the Commission to include these candidates also in the interview process. The Commission conducted revised interviews only for those 240 candidates who had reached the court. These interviews were to be held from 20 October 2023. But the court has reprimanded the commission and said that all 353 candidates should be included in the interview. After this, these 353 candidates were also included in the interview.

The court's decision is yet to be taken on whether reservation for OBC candidates should be increased from 14% to 27% in this recruitment or not. In such a situation, the Commission divided the recruitment result into two parts before the court's decision. The first part is for 87% of seats, the result of which was released on 26 December. The result of recruitment on the remaining 13% of seats will be released after the decision of the Court.
