The National Testing Agency (NTA) has initiated the JEE Main 2024 image correction window to ensure that applicants' photographs meet the required specifications. Candidates can make necessary corrections in their uploaded images until January 6 by logging in with their application number and password on the official website jeemain.nta.ac.in.

This decision comes after the NTA observed that several applicants had uploaded photographs that did not adhere to the stipulated guidelines. To provide candidates with a fair chance to rectify this issue, the image correction window has been opened.

The specifications for the new photograph are as follows:

  • Passport Size: The photograph should be in passport size with a size ranging from 10 kb to 200 kb.
  • Face Visibility: The recent photograph must capture 80% of the face without any mask, including ears, against a white background.
  • Spectacles: If used regularly, spectacles are allowed in the photograph.
  • Unacceptable Photos: Polaroid and computer-generated photos are not acceptable.

It's essential to note that the photographs need not be attested. Candidates are advised to keep six to eight passport size color photographs with a white background for future reference.

Candidates are cautioned that any attempt to upload fabricated photographs, such as deshaped, hand-made, or computer-made images, will lead to the rejection of their application. Such actions would be considered the use of unfair means, and the candidates will face consequences accordingly, as stated by the NTA.

However, it's crucial to understand that this image correction window is specific to photographs, and changes to other particulars in the JEE Main 2024 application form are not permitted.

The JEE Main 2024 application process for the first session commenced on November 1 and concluded on December 4, 2023. The examination will be conducted in two sessions, one in January and the other in April. The session 1 exam is scheduled to take place from January 24 to February 1, with details about exam cities being communicated to candidates in the second week of January.

For the second session, the application window will open on February 2 and close on March 2, 2024. As engineering aspirants gear up for these crucial examinations, precision in the application process, including accurate photographs, plays a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless and successful journey towards admission.
