The partnership, aimed at supporting India's journey towards self-reliance and technological advancement, encompasses research initiatives, experiential learning opportunities for students, and industry-relevant training.

The MoU, signed by Prof K K Pant, Director of IIT Roorkee, and Anand Ramamoorthy, Managing Director at Micron India, signifies a shared commitment to advancing technology and empowering the next generation of innovators. The collaboration is poised to contribute significantly to India's technological landscape.

**Inauguration of Micron Semiconductor Lab:**

An integral component of this partnership is the inauguration of the Micron Semiconductor Lab at IIT Roorkee's Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. This state-of-the-art facility is dedicated to providing technical skills, processes, and resources essential for the institute's growth. The lab will play a crucial role in facilitating student internships, fellowships, and industry-relevant training.

**Focus on Research and Academic Initiatives:**

The collaboration extends beyond infrastructure and training. The IIT Roorkee class of 1996 has pledged support for the "Rahul Aggarwal-96 Chair." Sponsored by the alumni, this chair will further research and academic initiatives at the Micron Semiconductor Lab. It will focus on chip design, technology, modelling, characterization, and product development, aligning with the thrust areas of the India Semiconductor Mission.
