Kanpur: IIT-Kanpur senate on Saturday terminated 60 students owing to their poor performance in the academic courses.

The decision was taken during the meeting of the senate held on Saturday. Among the students suspended, 46 are pursuing graduation, 8 are from post-graduate course and six students are from the research wing.

These students were earlier warned by the HOD and were even issued a notice following their poor grades.

The underperforming students are given alerts to maintain their performance and if they are not able to cope up they are pushed to do well.

The decision of terminating them, however, came after these students scored below average in their respective courses.
