36-24-36 is the ideal figure for girls, says CBSE Class 12 book

Mumbai: A book of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has claimed that 36-24-36 is the 'best figure' for the girls, while 'V' shape is considered ideal for the boys.

The matter belongs to Nagpur city of Maharashtra where, the ideal figures for girls and boys have been mentioned in the 'Health and Physical Study' chapter of Class 12 book of 'Physical Education', citing author Dr VK Sharma.

In the new edition of the book, the word ‘figure’ has been replaced with 'hourglass (sand clock)' shape to define the best shape of girls.

The doctor has claimed that this is the reason why the judges prefer such figures at the 'Miss World' and 'Miss Universe' competitions. The distribution and publication of the book, however, has been stalled by the publisher.

"Having good knowledge about the benefits of a fit body will inspire the young Class 12 students to maintain fitness throughout their lives," the doctor said.

Interestingly, CBSE has claimed that according to the rule 15.1 (D), the affiliated schools are not allowed to include the books of private publishers in the syllabus.
