100 books launches in 12 Indian languages, PM will inaugurat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch 100 books in 12 Indian languages related to Science, Humanities and Social Science which were prepared by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

UGC Chairman Prof M. Jagadesh Kumar said that the Ministry of Education is organising two-day event named 'Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam' at Pragati Maidan in Delhi on the occasion of the third anniversary of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The Prime Minister will inaugurate this event.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate an exhibition, which showcases the New India based on changes in technology, skill development, innovation research etc.

Kumar said that on the lines engineering, the students from the undergraduate and postgraduate programs will also get an opportunity to study in Indian languages.

Some of its books have been already prepared and the work of translating others is in process. The learner is the core of the NEP and will directly benefit from its recommendations.

Apart from bookish knowledge and classrooms, now the students will also learn the practical and laboratory work and will get credit on the basis of innovation lab, class project, assignment, tutorial, sports, yoga, physical activity, music, dance, social work, NCC and other.

The assessment will be based on exams, classroom tests, quizzes, field visits in skill education as well as internships, apprenticeships, on-the-job training and experiential learning.

Kumar also said that the four-year degree-based program is going to start in all universities from the upcoming academic session 2023-24.

Students will get a job opportunity by studying any favorite course with a degree. With this they will also get different benefits like entry and exit facilities during their studies, skill development, startup, innovation, research, internship and placement.

It will give a direction to every student that he could choose the path of learning and career options according to his talent and interest. There is an option to study their favorite course with the degree program.
