It is raining heavily in many parts of Delhi since late night. This rain has made the weather pleasant. According to the Meteorological Department, today it is expected to be cloudy and raining in Delhi NCR throughout the day. On the other hand, hailstorm accompanied by heavy rain in Himachal and Uttarakhand made people feel the cold once again. Let us tell you that the period of rain which started in Delhi from Saturday morning, continues till Sunday.

It rained in some parts of the national capital early on Sunday. There has been heavy rain in many areas including Paharganj, Mandi House, RK Puram, Indraprastha, Dutva Path and Central Delhi. A sudden change in the weather was seen in Delhi on Saturday morning also. Due to which there were strong winds and light rain in many areas of Delhi including Greater Kailash, India Gate, RK Puram and Janpath on Saturday morning.

The IMD said that a Western Disturbance is located over northern Afghanistan and its neighborhood and a trough runs from this cyclonic circulation in the lower and middle tropospheric levels to the northwest Arabian Sea. It further said that high moisture is flowing from the Arabian Sea to northwest India and is likely to continue till March 3. According to IMD, the minimum temperature was recorded above normal at different places in Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi on Saturday. Apart from this, the weather department said that there is no possibility of any significant change in the minimum temperature over northwest India during the next three days and thereafter there will be a drop of 3-5 degrees Celsius.

India is predicted to have more heat and more heatwave days than usual this year, as El Nino conditions may continue at least till May. India Meteorological Department (IMD) gave this information on Friday. The department said that the country may receive above normal rainfall (more than 117 percent of the long-term average of 29.9 mm) in March. IMD Director General Mrityunjay Mohapatra told the press conference that in India, the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be above normal in most parts of the country during the period from March to May. He said that from March to May, the number of heat wave days is expected to be higher than normal in most parts of the country except north-east India, western Himalayan region, south-western peninsula and west coast.
