It is raining heavily in Delhi and its surrounding areas since this morning. Icy winds blowing along with the rain have increased the cold.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is no hope of people getting relief even in the coming few days. In the last few days, due to sunshine, people had taken a sigh of relief from the cold, but the weather has once again taken a turn.

The IMD has predicted that the national capital will remain generally cloudy throughout the day with intermittent light rain and strong winds.

According to IMD scientist Naresh, recently due to western disturbance, rain is being seen in North India. Another disturbance is set to affect the weather conditions in the hilly areas this weekend. Quoting news agency ANI, he said, "Another western disturbance will start affecting from tomorrow, which will cause heavy snowfall and rain in the hilly areas."

The Meteorological Department further said that snowfall is expected in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh on February 4, while light hailstorm may occur in Punjab, Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh and North-West Madhya Pradesh. He said, "Whenever a western disturbance occurs, it causes a change in the wind pattern. Therefore, there is a tendency for the temperature to increase.

Therefore, we do not expect the temperature to drop in North-West India and Central India. The temperature will increase during the morning. Naresh said, "Dense fog may occur in isolated areas in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi NCR in the morning."

The Meteorological Department said that due to western disturbance, there will be no cold wave conditions in North India in the next few days. He said, "There will be no cold days, as there will be no drop in temperature in the next few days. So we are not expecting cold days in the next few days. We are also not expecting cold wave in the next 5-7 days.

Talking about the weather patterns in the national capital, he said that there may be light rain in Delhi on February 4.
