The protesting farmers of Punjab refused to conduct the post-mortem of Shubhakaran Singh, who lost his life at Khanauri border, saying that they want justice, not money. Farmers demand that he should be given martyr status and a case should also be registered against Haryana Police by forming a post-mortem board.

Farmers of Punjab have been on strike for 12 days in support of their demands including guarantee of MSP. Meanwhile, farmers have postponed the plan of Kisan Delhi March till February 29, this information was given by United Kisan Morcha.

Farmers of Punjab are staying put at Shambhu border. There is anger among the protesters after the death of farmer Shubhakaran Singh, who lost his life during the protest. They are demanding martyr status and compensation for Shubhakaran.

The farmers will take out a candle march in the memory of Shubhakaran Singh and three other martyred farmers. Candle march will be organized across the country today.

Farmers across the country will be made aware by holding a conference on the subject of WTO on 25th February at Shambhu and Khanauri border. On 26th February, effigies of WTO will be burnt in all the villages of the country and on the Shubhi-Khanauri border.

National level meetings of both the forums will be held on 27 February at Shambhu-Khanauri border, on 29 February a major decision will be announced on the stand of farmers regarding the farmers' movement.

There was tension on the Haryana-Punjab border on Friday also. To disperse the protesting farmers moving towards Khanauri, Haryana Police fired tear gas shells, after which there was a clash again between the two sides.

Police alleged that when stopped, the farmers threw stones at the policemen. During the clash, the police also lathicharged and took many farmers into their custody. SHO of Haryana Police also got injured in this clash.

Haryana Police said that it is withdrawing its decision to implement the provisions of the National Security Act (NSA) against some farmer leaders who were part of the farmers' movement.

The protesting farmers said that the last rites of farmer Shubhakaran Singh, who lost his life during the clash on Wednesday, will not be performed until the Punjab government files a case against those responsible for the incident.

A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court alleging that the rights of 'peacefully protesting' farmers are being violated by the Center and some states.
