Private school owner arrested for raping teacher in Noida

The owner of a private school in Greater Noida has been arrested for allegedly raping a teacher within the institute's premises.

According to the police sources the teacher alleged that the school owner sexually harassed her for the first time in February this year. She also alleged that the owner had also made a video recording of the incident.

Police said he used the recording to blackmail her and during this time he repeatedly raped her.

"The owner of the school in Sector Sigma 2 had called the teacher to his office on the pretext of some important work and sexually assaulted her when she was in the school for routine duty," a police spokesperson said.

"Recently, the teacher narrated her ordeal to her husband following which the couple decided to approach the police and reported the matter at the local Sector Beta 2 police station last week," the officer said.

Police said an FIR was registered on September 29 under sections 376 (rape) and 507 (criminal intimidation by anonymous communication) of the Indian Penal Code and a search was launched to arrest the accused.

The police officials said that, acting on a tip off the cops intercepted the accused from near Chuhadpur underpass and took him into custody. Police said the accused was produced before a local court, which has sent him to judicial custody.

The family of the victim demanded stern punishment to the accused. The police said that they were investigating the matter. The victim was taken for medical examination, they added.

‘’We will make sure that the guilty does not go unpunished and punished in accordance with the provisions of the law,’’ a senior police official said in Noida.
