Another policeman shot dead by assailants in Uttar Pradesh

Noida: Akhtar Khan, an assistant police sub-inspector, was killed in an armed encounter with the criminals in Nayi Basti area of Dadri in Greater Noida in small hours on Monday.

On a tip off, Akhtar had gone to nab the miscreants but was sprayed with bullets. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to injuries, superintendent of police Abhishek Yadav said.

The incident:

• Akhtar Khan, along with two constables, had gone there to arrest a criminal Farkan.
• They were attacked by the criminals.
• Akhtar sustained bullet injuries on his bowel during exchange of fire.

What police says?

• A team has been formed to arrest the accused.
• They will soon be arrested, claimed Yadav.
• Manhunt has been launched to nab Farkan.
• He is wanted in many cases.
