Man slits his wife's throat in full public view in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: In an appalling incident, a man lashed his wife's throat in a court at Rajendranagar area, located at the outskirts of Hyderabad, on Monday last.

The couple had appeared in the court to attend the proceedings of a case filed by the wife against her husband.

Nagender Babu assaulted his wife Soujanya with a knife in the court premises in full public view. He fled from the crime scene soon after slitting his wife’s throat.

• Soujanya, who was bleeding profusely, was rushed to a nearby hospital.
• Her condition was stated serious by the doctors.
• “The lady had approached the court, seeking directions to her husband to pay maintenance,” said the police.
• She alleged that Babu was not bearing her monthly expenses since he was involved in an extra-marital affair.
• The police said that an investigation is under way and the attacker will be nabbed soon.
