Man kills senior colleague for ‘harassing’ lover
Anish, killed his senior colleague, identified as Mahesh, who worked as a senior surveyor at Survey of India, Defence Officer Complex and buried the body near his quarters and then cemented the spot.
In a shocking incident, a man, who worked as a clerk in a government department, allegedly hacked to death his senior colleague at Ram Krishna Puram area of Delhi over alleged harassment of his lover by the latter.
According to the police sources, the man, identified as Anish, killed his senior colleague, identified as Mahesh, who worked as a senior surveyor at Survey of India, Defence Officer Complex and buried the body near his quarters and then cemented the spot.
Police have arrested the accused Anish. According to police, Anish has admitted to the crime and also told the cops about the motive behind the killing. He said that Mahesh, who was his senior colleague, had taken Rs nine lakh from him on loan but did not return the same despite several reminders. He also told the cops that Mahesh had been harassing his lover.
Anish then hatched a conspiracy to kill Mahesh and as per the plan he visited Lajpat Nagar and South Extension markets and bought items needed for the killing and its cover-up, the police went on to say. These items included a pipe and a six-feet polythene cover.
As per the plan, Anish then asked Mahesh to come over. Around noon, the senior officer reached Anish's government accommodation in RK Puram Sector 2. There, Anish allegedly used a pipe wrench to strike a fatal blow on Mahesh's head. Mahesh died on the spot.
He then fled to his home in Sonipat. Anish returned the next day, dug a pit about 1.5-feet deep and buried the body. He then used cement to cover the pit.
Mahesh's brother registered a complaint after he could not reach him. The body was recovered by police on September 2. More details on this case are awaited.
