Mahadev betting app owner Ravi Uppal detained in Dubai – sources

Ravi Uppal, owner of Mahadev betting app, has been detained in Dubai.

According to sources, Dubai Police has taken this action on the basis of the notice issued by Interpol. ED had appealed to Interpol some time ago for the arrest of Ravi Uppal. It was only after this appeal that Interpol issued a red notice. After the detention of Ravi Uppal in Dubai, ED is now in contact with Dubai Police. Preparations are being made to bring Ravi Uppal to India soon. It is being told that along with Ravi Uppal, the police have also detained two other people.

Many TV and Bollywood celebs had also come under the radar of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) which is investigating the Mahadev online betting case. In this case, ED had sent summons to comedian Kapil Sharma, actress Huma Qureshi and TV actress Hina Khan for questioning. On October 4, ED had sent summons to actor Ranbir Kapoor in this case. News agency ANI had given this information. All three were also called for questioning.

The special thing is that the police was searching for the owner of Mahadev Banting app for a long time. The police had already raided many places of Ravi Uppal and many other people running this app to arrest them, but they could not arrest Ravi and his associates. Meanwhile, news was received that Ravi has now gone out of the country. Only after this the ED contacted Interpol and got a notice issued against him.

In September this year, ED had taken major action regarding Mahadev online betting app. In this case, ED had raided 39 locations including Mumbai, Kolkata, Bhopal and seized assets worth Rs 417 crore. According to ED, Chhattisgarh residents Ravi Uppal and Saurabh Chandrakar are the promoters of Mahadev Betting App and are currently on the radar of ED.

According to ED, Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal have created an empire for themselves in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In February this year, Saurabh Chandrakar got married in the United Arab Emirates. It is being said that the promoters of Mahadev App had spent approximately Rs 200 crore in cash on this wedding ceremony.
