Karnataka: 2 year old child falls into 16 feet deep borewell, rescue operation underway

According to the police, the child had gone out to play near his house and then he fell into this borewell. The matter came to light when someone heard the child crying and immediately informed the family.

A two-year-old child fell into a borewell in Lachayan village of Indi taluk of Karnataka. Police gave this information on Wednesday evening. He told that a rescue operation is being carried out to bring out the child, who is estimated to have fallen to a depth of about 16 feet.

According to the police, the child had gone out to play near his house and then he fell into this borewell. The matter came to light when someone heard the child crying and immediately informed the family.

The operation to save the child was started at 6.30 in the evening. This operation has been going on for more than 12 hours and the police has also dug the hole to some extent. Let us inform that police team, revenue officer, members of Taluk Panchayat and officials of fire and emergency services department are present on the spot. A senior police officer said, "All efforts are on to save the child."

He told that it is estimated that the boy is trapped at a depth of about 16 feet. He said, "No sound can be heard at present but some movement has been seen inside the borewell." He said, "We have dropped pipes to supply oxygen to the child. We have been able to see some movement. The rescue operation is going on in full swing. All efforts are being made to save the child."

Everyone is praying in the monastery of Siddalinga Maharaj for the well being of the child.
