JD(U) leader shot dead in Patna

A major incident of violence has come to light before voting for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections in Bihar. JDU leader was shot dead in Patna on Wednesday night (JDU Leader Murder). JDU leader Saurabh Kumar was shot dead while returning from a wedding ceremony. This incident happened in Punpun area of Patna. The person present with Saurabh Kumar was also shot in this attack. After the murder of JDU leader, huge anger is being seen among the supporters. Angry supporters created a ruckus.

Saurabh Kumar was a youth leader of Nitish Kumar's party Janata Dal United (JDU). He was shot yesterday evening while returning from a function. Saurabh Kumar was shot twice in the head by four people riding a bike, while his companion Munmun was shot three times. Both were taken to the hospital in injured condition. Doctors declared Saurabh Kumar dead and his partner Munmun is undergoing treatment in critical condition.

As soon as information about the incident was received, a special team of Patna Police reached the spot late in the night and started investigation. Angered by the murder, the local people created a huge traffic jam on the road. As soon as the news of the JDU leader's murder was received, RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter Misa Bharti also reached Punpun and met the victim's family members.
