International gang making fake cancer medicines busted in Delhi, 7 arrested

A gang manufacturing fake medicines has been busted in Delhi-NCR. The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has busted an international gang involved in manufacturing and supplying fake medicines. Police have arrested seven accused in this case, including two employees of a renowned cancer hospital in Delhi. All the accused used to fill fake cancer medicines in injections worth Rs 1.96 lakh and sell them. Pharmacists used to supply these fake cancer medicines not only in the country but also in countries like China and America.

The Crime Branch has recovered Rs 89 lakh in cash, Rs 18 thousand dollars and fake cancer medicines of 7 international and 2 Indian brands worth Rs 4 crore from the possession of the accused. According to Special CP Crime Branch Shalini Singh, after three months of investigation, her team has busted this gang. She told that the police team raided 7-8 places simultaneously in Delhi-NCR. During the raid, fake medicines were caught in two flats of DLF Capital Greens, Moti Nagar.

Police said that an accused named Vifil Jain had set up a medicine and injection unit here. Vifil Jain is the kingpin of this fake medicine racket. At these places, refilling and packaging work was done to refill the vials and manufacture fake cancer medicines. Police have recovered 3 cap sealing machines, 1 heat gun machine and 197 empty vials from the flats. An accused named Neeraj Chauhan had stored a huge cache of fake cancer injections and vials in a flat in Gurugram. Police have found 137 vials of fake cancer injections, 519 empty vials and 864 empty packaging boxes of vials. On the example of Neeraj, his cousin Tushar Chauhan was also arrested, he was also involved in this supply chain.

A person named Parvez was arrested from Yamuna Vihar, Delhi, he used to arrange empty vials for Vifil Jain. 20 empty vials were recovered from his possession. Two employees of Delhi-based Cancer Hospital, Komal Tiwari and Abhinay Kohli, were also arrested. These people used to provide the empty vials in the hospital to these accused. Police have arrested seven accused in the case of running a fake medicine racket. Their names are Vifil Jain, Shat, Neeraj Chauhan, Parvez, Komal Tiwari, Abhinay Kohli and Tushar Chauhan.
