A 36-year-old woman from Hyderabad was murdered in Australia and her husband, who allegedly murdered her, came back to the city and handed over their son to his parents. According to reports, Chaitanya Madhagani's body was found in a dustbin kept on the side of a road in Buckley on Saturday. She lived in Australia with her husband and son.

According to Bandari Lakshma Reddy, MLA from Uppal (East Hyderabad), since the woman was from his constituency, after getting information about the case, he met her parents today. The MLA said that on the request of the woman's parents, he wrote a letter to the Ministry of External Affairs to bring the body of the woman to Hyderabad. The MLA said that he also informed the office of Union Minister G Kishan Reddy about this.

The MLA further said that as per the information given by the woman's parents, their son-in-law has confessed to killing their daughter. Victoria Police said in a statement on March 9: "Homicide Squad detectives are investigating after a dead man was discovered in Buckley, near Winchelsea. Officers found the deceased woman on Mount Pollock Road at midday."

The statement said that in the investigation so far, it is believed that the parties involved in the murder knew each other and the culprit might have fled abroad. It was also suspected that after the murder, the body was thrown into the dustbin.
