Four men from Kumbi assembly constituency, who had gone to collect firewood in the hilly areas of Manipur's Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts, went missing on Wednesday. Police gave this information. His whereabouts have not been found yet. Police said that they have been identified as Dara Singh, Ibomcha Singh, Romain Singh and Anand Singh.

Meanwhile, militants carried out firing and bomb attacks in Haotak village in Bishnupur district, forcing more than 100 women, children and elderly people to flee to safer areas, officials said.

Officials said security forces reached the spot and retaliated and forced the attackers to stop firing. Officials said that intermittent firing is still going on. There is no information about any casualty.

Meanwhile, militants opened fire and also carried out bomb attacks in Haotak village of Bishnupur district, killing more than 100 women, children and others, officials said. The elders fled to safe areas. On receiving the information, security forces reached the spot and retaliated. No one has been reported injured yet.

Last year on 3 May 2023, caste violence broke out in Manipur, after which more than 180 people have died so far. Several hundred people have been injured. Private and public property has also been damaged due to violence. The violence started when the Scheduled Tribe (ST) of the Meitei community demanded.
