In Gurugram, Haryana, a mentally disturbed boy, on hearing the word 'mad', stabbed his mother several times with a knife and set the house on fire. 59 year old Ranu Shah was badly injured in the fire. After this, Ranu Shah was admitted to a private hospital, where he died during treatment.

Ranu Shah lived with her husband and 27-year-old mentally disturbed son in Tower No. 3, Flat No. 401, Vipul Green Society, Sector 48. Late on Sunday night, people living in the neighborhood had informed Gurugram Police and Fire Department about the fire in the flat. The fire department team that reached the spot somehow broke the door of the flat, took out 59-year-old woman Ranu Shah in a badly burnt condition and was admitted to Medanta Hospital.

Initial police investigation has revealed that Ranu Shah's 27-year-old son Atrish Shah was living with his family in the same society and often used to beat his mother in an angry state. But yesterday, over some issue, the mother lovingly called her mentally disturbed son 'mad'. Because of this, the angry son first started attacking the mother with a knife and then set the house on fire.

However, Gurugram police reached the spot, took possession of the body and started investigation. However, the police have not yet given information whether the accused son has been arrested or not.
