Accused in BJP leader murder shot dead in Rajasthan

Armed assailants on Wednesday shot dead an accused in the murder of the BJP leader Kripal Jagheena in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district while he was being taken to the court.

According to the police sources the assailants boarded the bus in which the accused, identified as Kuldeep Jagheena and another, were travelling with an armed escort, stopped at the Amoli Toll Plaza.

The assailants threw red chillies into the eyes of the cops accompanying the accused persons virtually blinding them and the opened fire at the accused. While Kuldeep died on the spot, the other accused Vijay Pal sustained serious injuries and was admitted to the hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.

Police officials said that the assailants had been identified and a massive hunt had been launched to nab them.

Kripal Jagheena was shot dead in September last year and Kuldeep and Vijay Pal were two main accused in the matter.

Police said that Kripal, who was associated with the BJP, had been killed over a land dispute.
