It was a ‘tsunami’ witnessed never before. It was a tsunami on the field that Afghanistan's tent was destroyed, and crores of fans were simply swept away in it. And certainly, if we name it “Maxwell Tsunami”, it would not be wrong at all.

Glenn Maxwell (201 not out, 128 balls, 21 fours, 10 sixes) demolished the Afghans in such a way that even the biggest records were buried in his innings.

If we talk about the history of World Cup, then Kapil Dev's unbeaten inning of 175 runs against Zimbabwe in the year 1983 is often discussed, but its video is not available because for some reason this match is telecast live.

The unbeaten inning of 201 runs played by Maxwell was the first double century in World Cup history. Before this, two more double centuries have been scored, but these have been scored in matches other than the World Cup. But apart from this, in the style and circumstances in which Maxwell scored an unbeaten double century, it does not seem that any batsman will ever be able to create such a tsunami.

In fact, this charisma of Maxwell was such that it does not even have any record category. There is no mention of which batsman scored how many runs in such critical and difficult circumstances.

When Maxwell was on 126 runs, his muscles were strained, he was not able to run…if he was running, he was falling and staggering. But in this difficult situation, Maxwell scored unbeaten 75 runs in 35 balls. And in this aspect, there is no record or category as to which batsman has scored 75 runs and completed a double century under such circumstances (after the fall of 7 wickets) in "such conditions". And there were many sixes in it, examples of which will be given, but the Afghans could not even capitalize on this "one leg" situation.

While this innings of Maxwell was the second fastest double century in ODI history, it also became the only double and fastest double century in World Cup history. Before Maxi, Ishan Kishan had scored a double century in 126 balls, now Maxwell achieved the feat in just 128 balls. Chris Gayle is the third batsman to achieve this feat in 138 balls.
