Congress's strategy to win the Lok Sabha elections is gradually emerging. Seeing the strength of BJP in the Hindi belt states, Congress is making efforts to win more and more seats in the South and North East states.

According to the media reports, Congress is making special strategy for 129 seats in the South and 25 seats in the North-East. Strong leaders of Congress are becoming active under this strategy. This time in the Lok Sabha elections, Congress will also be seen raising big issues of the states. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has also revealed the strategy of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi by giving a statement about contesting elections from Telangana.

Congress's plan is to increase its numbers by gaining one seat each. The party is focusing on states and union territories with one or two seats. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has started visiting every state and meeting workers. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is trying to energize the workers through Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra. Party strategists believe that to give competition to BJP in the elections, Congress and the alliance will have to win about 100 to 120 seats out of about 154 seats in the Union Territories along with South and North East.

Rahul has set his agenda by attacking the local language and culture in the North-East and raising the issue of several agreements of the North-East states that have been pending for years. There have been allegations of violence in Manipur and corruption in Assam against Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sarma. The issue of granting special status to Andhra Pradesh is being raised under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act 2014, which has been pending for ten years.

Congress has its stronghold in Tamil Nadu and Kerala in the south. In both these states, Congress along with its allies had performed well in 2019. By repeating it this time, a strategy is being made to get a good number of seats in Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

After the statement of Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, it is believed that Sonia Gandhi can be fielded in the elections from such Lok Sabha constituency of Telangana, from where maximum seats of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh can be combined with Telangana. The party has fielded his sister Sharmila YSR Reddy against Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy in Andhra Pradesh, which has 25 seats. Sharmila has opened the way for alliance by meeting NCP chief Sharad Pawar and CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury. The Left parties and Congress, included in the India alliance, will be seen contesting friendly elections against each other in Kerala. The party is preparing to contest elections alone in Karnataka.
