Pramod Krishnam expelled from Congress for 6 years

Congress has expelled Acharya Pramod Krishnam, a senior leader of the party in Uttar Pradesh and Peetadhishwar of Kalki Dham, for 6 years. Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal confirmed it by giving a statement on Saturday.

He said that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has approved the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee's proposal to expel Pramod Krishnam with immediate effect over complaints of indiscipline and repeated statements against the party.

Recently, Pramod Krishnam had praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP for the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. He also went to Ayodhya on 22 January. He had criticized Congress for not participating in this program.

While posting a picture with PM Narendra Modi on X, Acharya Pramod Krishnam met PM Modi on 2 February. He had invited him to attend the foundation stone laying program of Kalki Dham on 19 February.

After this, he also met CM Yogi on 6th February and invited him to visit Kalki Dham.

Pramod said "Lord Ram belongs to everyone, I belong to Lord Ram. I am inviting everyone to come to Kalki Dham. I have also extended this invitation to Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, now it is their choice whether they come or not."

Who is Acharya Pramod Krishnam?

Acharya Pramod Krishnam was born on 4 January 1965 in the village Echoda Kamboh of Sambhal. He belongs to a Brahmin family. Pramod Krishnam is counted among the popular leaders of Congress in UP. He has also contested elections twice on a Congress ticket.

He contested elections from Sambhal in 2014 and Lucknow in 2019. However, he lost both times. It is said that Pramod Krishnam was at the forefront of Congress in support of the construction of the Ram temple. More than politics, Pramod Krishnam lies in media light because of Shri Kalki Dham in Sambhal, UP, which he has built in his village.
