Sources said that Kamal Nath felt that there has been a change in him since joining Congress 50 years ago and he had told this to the party. Although Congress later denied reports that Kamal Nath would leave the party, he emphasized that former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had called him her "third son" while campaigning for him in 1979. After Nakulnath, AIADMK's Ashok Kumar is second in the list of richest candidates, who is contesting from Erode in Tamil Nadu, who has declared assets worth Rs662 crore. BJP candidate from Sivagangai, Devnathan Yadav T, has assets worth Rs 304 crore.

This time the Lok Sabha elections will be held in seven phases, the first phase of elections will start from April 19. Whereas the counting of votes will take place on June 4. With less than two weeks left for the elections, candidates from various political parties who are filing their nominations have disclosed their personal information including assets, criminal background or cases, financial status and other information. . The average assets per candidate contesting the April 19 elections is ₹ 4.51 crore.
