Congress's Jan Jagran Abhiyan is going to start from today to corner the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the issue of East Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP).

Many senior leaders including Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, CM Ashok Gehlot, State President Govind Singh Dotasara, former Deputy CM Sachin Pilot will be taking part in the Yatra.

Congress leaders will also address a public meeting on this occasion. This public meeting will be held at Dol Pond in Baran.

Arrangements have been made to seat 80 thousand people in this public meeting. According to Mines Minister Pramod Jain Bhaya and Baran MLA Panachand Meghwal, around 1 lakh people are expected to reach this public meeting.

According to the reports, the National President of Congress will inaugurate the ERCP Yatra, after which he will leave from Baran.

After this meeting, Congress National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is also proposed to visit Rajasthan on 20th October. Priyanka Gandhi will also corner the central government and BJP on the issue of ERCP.

After the launch of the ERCP public awareness campaign by Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress leaders including CM Gehlot will take out the ERCP public awareness campaign in the districts and will keep it prominent in the election meetings.

This is being made an issue in the elections only to corner BJP and PM Modi, because Congress believes that the PM has not kept his promise and the Union Minister coming from Rajasthan, Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and the Lok Sabha elections are against Congress.

Congress leaders said that all the 25 BJP MPs were not able to get the ERCP project declared as a national project by putting pressure on the Centre.

The Congress government of the state itself had started the work by giving budget to ERCP. Therefore, there will be resentment towards the BJP government at the Center and the BJP party in the districts of Eastern Rajasthan.
