IPL 2018: Rain stops Rajasthan Royals vs Delhi Daredevils match

Jaipur: Rain played a spoilsport in the sixth match between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League (IPL) here on Wednesday.

The skies opened in the 17th over when the Rajasthan scoreboard read 153/5 with Rahul Tripathi (15) and Krishnappa Gowtham (2) at the crease.

Earlier, Delhi Daredevils skipper Gautam Gambhir won the toss and chose to field at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium here. DD gave early blows to the opponent in form of D Arcy Short and Ben Stokes and RR were two down for just 28 runs in four overs.

Skipper Ajinkya Rahane and Sanju Samson stabilized the innings and added 62 runs to the scorecard. Samson, however, departed after adding 37 runs to his individual total on 22 deliveries.

Rahane too failed to stay for long after Samson's wicket. He made 45 runs off 40 balls. Jos Buttler also added 29 runs to the Rajasthan Royals innings.

For DD, Shahbaz Nadeem took two wickets, while Trent Boult and Mohammed Shami plucked one wicket each.
