In literal terms 'bantwara' means division and when used for homes it usually conveys a negative meaning. But the 'bantwara' campaign launched by 93.5 Red FM and the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) is exactly the opposite. It doesn't divide homes but is aimed at keeping the city clean by 'bantwara'of wet and dry garbage.

It has been observed that the people often dump both wet and dry garbage in one dustbin and hand it over to the garbage collectors though the LMC repeatedly tells the people to separate the two types of garbage on Thursday and on the first day the teams visited the famous Chatori Gali in the city to create awareness among the people on this issue.

LMC Mayor Sushma Kharakwal also took part in the campaign.
The joint teams of Red FM and LMC also visited other areas having food joints, parks and colonies and exhorted the people to change their habit.

Red FM also felicitated those people who had developed an excellent garbage management system by giving them verified stickers.
The campaign earned praise from the Lucknowites as well as social media influencers.
