The Indian startup ecosystem is expected to grow rapidly in the next 7 to 10 years. According to the Unicorn 2.0 report released by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), by the year 2030, new unicorn companies will add one trillion dollars to the country's GDP. It will also provide 5 crore new employment opportunities. CII said, the contribution of unicorn companies is expected to be one trillion dollars in the Indian economy reaching $7 trillion by 2029-30. According to the report, sectors like retail, e-commerce, financial services, manufacturing and software services and digital are set to drive growth in a big way.

- 20-25 Indian startups will be in leading positions globally by 2030-35.

There are currently 113 unicorns in the country whose combined market capital is more than $350 billion.
