As many as 29 million students were registered in 40 thousand colleges in 2011-12. It increased to 39 million in 2019-20.

The World Bank has approved a loan of Rs20.94 billion to improve technical education in government technical educational institutions in India. US-based World Bank Country Director Auguste Tano Koume said that it will be beneficial for 3.50 lakhs students of 275 government technical institutes in next five years.

Along with this, it will help in skill development of students and getting employment. It will also be helpful for entrepreneurship and innovation for encouragement. Students will also have increased access to advanced curriculum, new technology and communications.

As many as 29 million students were registered in 40 thousand colleges in 2011-12. It increased to 39 million in 2019-20.

Due to this project, the students will have to access to the advance curriculum including emerging technologies in communications and climate resilience. Students will get benefit in internship as well as in placements also.

Students will be encouraged to finish their courses. Women students will be requested to connect with the mentors and alumni. Currently, the number of undergraduate engineering students is less than 30 percent of the total students.
