IndiGo orders 500 aircrafts

Aviation giant IndiGo created a history of sorts in the Indian civil aviation sector when it placed orders to buy 500 Airbus A320.

This is the biggest order which has been given by an Indian Airline company.

According to IndiGo, the Airline delivery of the aircrafts will be expected to be in 2030-35. The IndiGo Board has approved a budget of 50 billion dollars for the purchase.

IndiGo is already operating more than 300 flights and it has orders of 480 flights which are expected deliver by the 2030.

This deal is not only important for IndiGo but for the Airbus also. Airbus also shared this information on its twitter account.

According to records of April 2023, the Airline holds 57% shares in domestic market in Indian aviation sector.

IndiGo CEO Peter Albers, this order strongly confirms IndiGo’s belief in India’s growth with A320 family. Airbus chief commercial officer and International leader Christian Shire said this is a new chapter in the relationship between Airbus and IndiGo.

Incidentally some Indian Airlines have been struggling in India in recent years. Either they struggle to come back or end their business. But IndiGo Airlines is trying to stable itself.
