DA of central government employees may be hiked

Amid rising prices Central government employees have got something to cheer. The Centre may hike their dearness allowance (DA).

According to media reports, the government may hike the DA by 4% giving them some respite from the rising prices of essential commodities.

According to the data index of All India Consumer Price Index Number (AICPI) in May 2023, the Dearness allowance has reached 45.58%. It is on 134.7 points.

The June data figure may be released by 31st July. Currently, the Centre is paying a 42% DA to its employees. and if it is increased by 4% then it will rise to 46%.

According to some reports, Price Index Ratio had also predicted an increment in these points.
Dearness allowance is reviewed twice a year in January and July.
