Banks to remain closed for 16 days in July

Banks will be closed in Jammu-Kashmir on 5th July because of Guru Hargovind ji’s birthday and in Mizoram on MHIP day on 6th July. They will also remain closed on July 11th on the occasion of Ker Pooja in Tripura.

Banks will remain closed for 16 days in the month of July this year. The instructions of Reserve Bank of India have come out in this regard that there are eight holidays are (state specific) on different occasions and others are national holidays that are decided by the government.

Bank holidays are categorized under three categories:

  • Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act
  • Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday.
  • Banks’ Closing of Accounts

Banks will be closed in Jammu-Kashmir on 5th July because of Guru Hargovind ji’s birthday and in Mizoram on MHIP day on 6th July. They will also remain closed on July 11th on the occasion of Ker Pooja in Tripura.

Banks will also be closed in Tripura, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, New Delhi, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh on the occasion of Muharram on 29th July.

  3. July 6th- MHIP day in Mizoram
  4. July 8th- Second Saturday

  6. July 11th- Ker Pooja in Tripura
  7. July 13th- Bhanu Jayanti in Sikkim
  8. July 16th- Sunday
  9. July 17th- U Tirot Singh Day in Meghalaya
  10. July 21st- Drukpa Tshe-zi in Sikkim
  11. July 22nd- Fourth Saturday
  12. July 23rd- Sunday
  13. July 28th- Ashoora in Jammu and Kashmir
  14. July 29th- Muharram in Tripura, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, New Delhi, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh
  15. July 30th- Sunday
  16. July 31st- Martyrdom Day in Haryana and Punjab
