The transit and position of the planet Saturn affect the lives of the people. Saturn is the slowest of all the planets.

One may have heard people saying, when asked about their problems, that they have been impacted by the Saturn’s ‘sadhe sati’, which in English means seven and half year.

According to the astrologers, ‘sadhe sati’ is the result of regular transit of Saturn from one sign to another. Theoretically speaking there is nothing uncommon in its transit as every planet keep moving from one sign to another.

The period of ‘sadhe sati’ denotes transit of the Saturn around the natal moon of the native. The astrologers say that it begins when Saturn enters the 12th sign from your natal moon and ends when it exits the second sign from your natal moon. Since in each sign the Saturn remains for two and half hears, it remains in the three signs for a total period of seven and half years and hence the ‘sadhe sati’.

Every person has to face ‘sadhe sati’ after every 30 years.

In the first phase of the ‘sadhe sati’, the impacted person has to face financial problems while in the second phase there may be problems in his worklofe. The last phase affects his health.

The astrologers say that the affected people should donate iron or black clothes on Saturdays to please Saturn. Lighting earthen lamp under the Pepal tree and reciting the ‘Shani Strota’ on Saturdays also pleases Saturn.
