The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics to Pierre Agostini Ferenc Krausz and Anne L'Huillier. Earlier, Catalin Carico and Drew Weissman received the Nobel Prize for 2023 in the field of medicine.

Three scientists have been awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for observing atoms in the smallest fraction of a split second. The award will be given to Pierre Agostini of Ohio State University in the US, Ferenc Krausz of the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics in Germany and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, and Anne L'Huillier of Lund University in Sweden.
