New Delhi: The small helicopter Ingenuity, which was landed on Mars by the US space agency NASA with the rover Perseverance, is going to fly a distance of about 625 meters. This will be Ingenuity's 9th flight.

According to NASA, this flight can be done anytime after July 4. Ingenuity flew to Mars for the first time on 19 April. This was the first achievement of a man flying a helicopter on a planet other than Earth. At that time Ingenuity had flown at a height of 10 feet for about 30 seconds.
Since then its flight height and distance have been increased. According to NASA, it has gone to five different flight zones. At present, Perseverance and Ingenuity are in the Seetah region of Mars. There are sandy gorges and rough rocks.

This time ingenuity is going to do something that only an aerial device can do. Not only will new records be set in flight, but he will also go into dangerous areas.
Setah will cross the area and reach a plain located to the south. During this, colorful pictures of the rocks and holes of Mars will be taken from the sky.
In this journey, Ingenuity has been instructed to fly 2,051 feet (about 625 meters), maintain a speed of 5 meters per second and stay in the air for about 167 seconds.
According to NASA, Ingenuity can land in a more dangerous area in this flight. At the same time, its telecom system will also have to be far away from the rover, although it is made to work up to a distance of about a few hundred meters. For these reasons, flying is considered dangerous.
Despite these dangers, NASA is taking the risk because Ingenuity has so far held its ground. NASA believes that taking more risks can lead to better results and goals. If it is successful, then the utility of airborne instruments in the study of other planets including Mars will also increase.
