A Muslim man collected holy water from the Sharda Peeth Kund in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) for use in the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and sent it to India via Britain via courier.

Ravinder Pandit, founder of 'Save Sharda Committee Kashmir' (SSCK) said that the holy water is being transported through other countries due to the suspension of postal services between India and Pakistan following the air strike on Balakot following the Pulwama terror attack in 2019.

He said, “The holy water of Sharda Kund of Sharda Peeth in PoK was collected by Tanveer Ahmed and his team. Our members of the civil society across the LOC (Line of Control) took it to Islamabad, from where it was sent to his daughter Maghribi in Britain.

Ravinder said, “Maghribi handed it over to Kashmiri Pandit activist Sonal Sher, who came to Ahmedabad, India in August 2023. From there it reached me in Delhi.

He said the holy water had to travel to Europe as postal services between India and Pakistan were temporarily suspended following the Balakot operation.

Ravinder said SSCK member Manjunath Sharma handed over the holy water to Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leaders, who handed it over to senior functionary Koteshwar Rao in Ayodhya on Saturday.
