Islamabad: Pakistan's Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif has accepted that several terror groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-Mohammed are active on its soil and strong action against them is need of the hour.

“We need to tell our friends that we have improved our house. We need to bring our house in order to prevent facing embarrassment on the international level,” said Asif.

Hinting that Pakistan could no longer afford to test its friends such as China, Khawaja said countries across the world took initiatives to curb terrorism and Pak too should take steps to deal with it.

“We must make a clean break from our past,” he added, referring to the way in which militant groups got a boost after Pakistan joined US-led efforts against Soviet occupation forces in Afghanistan in the 1980s.

“Within our country, we should impose some restrictions on the activities of the JeM and LeT so that we can tell the world we have set our house in order,” he said.
