Earthquake measuring 5.5 magnitude jolts Nepal

Kathmandu: An earthquake of magnitude of 5.5 at richer scale struck Nepal on early morning of Monday. The epicenter of the earthquake was recorded at the border of Ramechhap and Solukhumbu district about 130 kilometers from Kathmandu. No loss to life or property was reported.

According to the National Centre of Seismology,"There is a possibility of strong aftershocks in next few days.”

  • Residents moved out to the streets.
  • There were no disruption in Power or means of communication.

It may be recalled that On April 25, 2015, Nepal was hit by a major earthquake measuring 7.8 magnitude on richer scale. More than 9000 people had lost their lives and 22,000 others were injured.
