Medium intensity Earthquake hits India-Pakistan border

The tremors of the quake were felt in Muzaffarabad, Peshawar, Gilgit and Chilas. Some tremors were also felt in Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan’s capital Islamabad

Srinagar: The India-Pakistan border was hit by a medium intensity earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale on Saturday, tweeted National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).

The tremors of the quake were felt in Muzaffarabad, Peshawar, Gilgit and Chilas. Some tremors were also felt in Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan’s capital Islamabad.

The majorly affected part was the area under Pakistani territory—117 kilometre east of Mingaora. There were, however, no reports of loss of life and property.
