128 people have died so far in Nepal earthquake

According to the National Center for Seismology, the intensity of the earthquake was recorded at 6.4 on the Richter scale and the epicenter was at a depth of 10 km in Nepal. Earthquake tremors were also felt in many districts of North India including Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

At least 128 people have died after a massive earthquake of 6.4 magnitude shook Nepal late Friday night. Officials have given this information. Rukum West DSP Namraj Bhattarai confirmed that 36 deaths have been recorded as per the data collected till 5 am (local time).

Jajarkot DSP Santosh Rokka said that 34 people have been confirmed dead in the earthquake. Whereas in other places too, people are being killed. It is noteworthy that Jajarkot and Rukum are the most earthquake affected areas in western Nepal. The death toll is likely to increase further. Police officials said that complete information about the damage will be available only in the morning.

Nepal's Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed grief over the damage caused by the earthquake.

According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the epicenter of the earthquake was about 227 km north of Ayodhya in Nepal and 331 km west north-west of Kathmandu at a depth of 10 km. People in Delhi-NCR felt strong tremors of the earthquake and came out of their homes. This is the third time in the last one month that Nepal has been hit by strong earthquakes.
