Weather Today (PC- Social Media)

Uttar Pradesh is feeling winter’s sharp edge again on January 29, 2026. Rain has stopped for now, but cold winds and thick fog are back, making mornings harsh and visibility low. The IMD has issued fog alerts for many districts, and the chill is clearly stronger than the last few days.

Cold Makes A Strong Comeback

After days of rain and cloudy skies, the weather in Uttar Pradesh has taken a cold turn. The western disturbance that caused rainfall has moved away, but it left behind icy winds. These winds are making mornings and nights uncomfortable again. People are feeling that biting cold, especially during early hours.

The air feels heavier. Fog hangs longer. Roads look blurred before sunrise. For many, winter suddenly feels serious again.

Dense Fog Alert In Many Districts

The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for dense fog in several districts. These include Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, and Kushinagar.

In these areas, visibility may drop sharply during morning hours. Driving could turn risky. Trains may run late. Flights can also see delays. People are advised to stay cautious while travelling early in the day.

Rain Stops, But Cold Stays

Rainfall has mostly paused from today. The IMD expects dry weather across Uttar Pradesh for the next three days. Even without rain, the cold will stay because of falling night temperatures and continuous cold air movement.

This dry spell may not last long. Another western disturbance is expected to affect the state in the coming days. That could again bring clouds and rain.

Temperature Sees Sudden Changes

Temperature patterns are shifting across the state. In western Uttar Pradesh, daytime temperatures may rise by four to six degrees Celsius within the next 24 hours. This might bring slight daytime comfort.

Eastern Uttar Pradesh tells a different story. Here, maximum temperatures may drop by two to four degrees Celsius. Nights will feel colder too. Minimum temperatures across the state could fall by four to six degrees Celsius in the next seventy-two hours.

This sudden drop explains the sharp chill people are feeling already.

Coldest And Warmest Spots In UP

Bulandshahr emerged as the coldest district recently, with a minimum temperature of nine degrees Celsius. Bareilly followed closely at 9.2 degrees, while Fatehpur recorded ten degrees.

On the other side, Prayagraj stayed the warmest with a maximum temperature of twenty-seven degrees Celsius. Rainfall earlier was highest in Kannauj, where over forty millimetres of rain was recorded, followed by Hardoi and Barabanki.

These contrasts show how varied Uttar Pradesh weather can be even on the same day.

Lucknow Weather Today

Lucknow wakes up to fog this morning. Visibility may remain low for some time. No rain is expected today. The weather stays dry, with chances of mild sunshine later in the day.

Maximum temperature is likely to remain steady, while minimum temperature may slip down by one degree. The cold will feel sharper in shaded areas.

Noida And Ghaziabad Update

Noida is likely to see light fog and haze during early hours. Rain chances are almost zero. The sky should clear as the day moves ahead. Sunlight may appear, offering some warmth.

Ghaziabad will also see fog or mist in the morning. Temperatures may dip further, making the cold more intense than yesterday. Daytime remains dry and calm.

Meerut Faces Thicker Fog

Meerut could see dense fog today. IMD has warned of poor visibility here. The weather stays dry, but cold conditions continue. Maximum temperature may hover around twenty-one degrees Celsius, while minimum could touch nine degrees.

People in Meerut should avoid early morning travel if possible.

What To Expect Next

For now, Uttar Pradesh remains cold, foggy, and dry. The next few days bring no major weather change. Cold mornings, chilly nights, and mild afternoons will continue.

Another western disturbance may soon disturb this calm. When it arrives, rain and clouds could return. Until then, winter has clearly tightened its grip again across the state.
