UP News today mainly circles around CM Yogi’s Ayodhya visit, the tragic Sonbhadra mine accident where seven bodies were recovered, the violent attack on a revenue team in Prayagraj, and fresh updates from Rampur jail and Bareilly land action. These are the biggest updates right now and they shape the full picture of the state’s top developments.
The most shocking news through the day stays the Sonbhadra mining tragedy. Seven badly damaged bodies have been pulled out from under the rubble in the Billi Markundi coal mine area. People at the site said almost fifteen workers were inside when the mine roof suddenly fell down in a heavy slide. The scene became horrifying because many bodies were crushed so much that families struggled to identify them. Out of the seven bodies recovered, five have already been cremated by relatives, while two remain under verification before they can be handed over. NDRF teams, district officers, and mine authorities remain at the spot trying to remove the debris fast because more workers are feared stuck somewhere deep under it. Heavy machines are still at work and rescue workers keep saying time matters a lot because the slide was huge.
Another major incident happened in Prayagraj where a revenue team reached Karnaipur village to remove illegal occupation from government land. The moment they began the eviction process, a large group attacked them with stones. The crowd hit the officers so hard that the Naib Tehsildar Rajiv Shukla suffered head injuries and had to be rushed to the hospital. This whole tension forced the team to return without completing the eviction. During the chaos, unknown people even set fire to a house and a hut near the spot. Police have already filed an FIR based on the complaint given by the revenue inspector. Two accused have been taken into custody and teams are going after the remaining ones. Officials say the situation is under control and legal action will continue because the eviction order was passed by SDM Phoolpur court already.
Ayodhya stayed in focus too because CM Yogi Adityanath reached the Ram Katha Park helipad. Senior BJP leaders and ministers welcomed him and he left straight for Hanumangarhi for darshan. After that, he planned to check Ram Mandir area facilities and review preparations related to the Prime Minister’s next visit. He will inspect Saket Mahavidyalaya, Ram Janmabhoomi campus points and even watch the rehearsal for flag hoisting. Before winding up his visit, he’ll also do an inspection at Maharshi Valmiki Airport and then leave for Lucknow around 5 PM. The visit looks tight and full of ground checks because Ayodhya remains the centre of big upcoming events.
Rampur added a different type of headline with Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam spending their first night in jail barrack number one as normal prisoners. Both reached jail with biscuit packets in hand after the court sentenced them to seven years in the PAN card case. They ate jail food like other inmates including lentil, roti and vegetable. Locals say their home lanes looked unusually quiet last night because this case has been in the spotlight for a long time.
Bareilly brought another major administrative story. Large stretches of land that were occupied for decades by people linked to land mafia and criminals have now been freed by the district administration. This land will now be used for an employment zone and housing for poor families. Officials said that hundreds of hectares have been cleared and construction will start soon to turn the place into something useful for locals. This drive has been going strong in urban and rural areas both.
