Tragic Bus Crash in Gosaiganj: Double-Decker Bus Hits E-Rickshaw, Three Dead and Several Injured

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: A double-decker passenger bus collided with an electric rickshaw (e-rickshaw) early Friday morning on Sultanpur Road near Gosaiganj, resulting in the death of a 54-year-old man and injuries to two others. 

According to police reports, the bus struck the e-rickshaw carrying two passengers near Kabirpur shortly after 6:00 AM on Sultanpur Road. The force of the impact flipped the smaller vehicle, killing the e-rickshaw occupant Om Prakash (54) on the spot. 

The driver of the e-rickshaw, identified as Ankit, and a third person, Shiv Prasad, were seriously injured and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. 

Police have taken the bus into custody and said efforts are underway to locate the bus driver, who fled the scene after the collision. Local authorities are investigating the incident to determine the exact cause of the crash. 

This accident adds to ongoing concerns over road safety in the region, especially involving large passenger buses and smaller vehicles.
